CALEB TAYLOR
Founder

Caleb was rated as a Private Pilot in 1977 at Montgomery Field in San Diego, California at the age of 19. Commercial Pilot certification followed in 1978 and by early 1979, at the age of 20, Caleb was working full time as a Certified Flight Instructor at a local San Diego flight school.

After over a thousand hours of primary and advanced instruction given, Caleb moved to Mammoth Lakes to pursue a career in corporate aviation, flying a Cessna Conquest I (C425). After nearly seven years with the same company, extensive experience was obtained in Cessna 310's, 414's, 421's and Conquest I/II aircraft. During this period, invaluable part 135 experience, mountain-flying experience and international operations were obtained. Concurrently, Caleb stayed current as a CFI by maintaining a load of several advanced rating students over the years.

Caleb was hired by FlightSafety International in 1986, at the Cessna Learning Center in Wichita, Kansas as an instructor. After leaving FSI, he recognized the need for an alternative to simulator based training and also to raise the standard in quality model-specific flight instruction. In 1988, he moved back to California and founded ProFlight to fill this niche. He also spent 5 years as a designated pilot examiner in the Western Pacific region, approved for Private through ATP/MEL with authorization letters in the Conquest I & II aircraft.

Caleb pioneered interactive animated systems ground school courseware for the Conquest I and II aircraft and eventually created computer courseware presentations for King Airs, Cheyennes, Citations and several singles. These computer programs are in use by hundreds of training institutions around the world including FlightSafety International, Embry-Riddle, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airlines.

Due to the success and popularity of ProFlight's in-aircraft training programs, in February, 2003 Caleb spec'd a full motion flight training device for the Conquest I and II aircraft from Fidelity Flight Simulation. In August of 2003, the FTD was put into service at ProFlight's new facility adjacent to Palomar Airport (CRQ) in sunny Carlsbad, Cailfornia.

Today, as a managing member of ProFlight, LLC, Caleb has over 12,000 hours including over 5000 in Cessna Conquests, and several thousand hours in Citations. He still enjoys teaching and strives to provide customers with the highest quality training. Caleb also provides expert testimony and consulting service for aviation litigation cases involving Conquest aircraft.
